Spring Update and Hunting Season Prep - Hadley Creek Outfitters Spring Update and Hunting Season Prep - Hadley Creek Outfitters

We hope this update finds you well! As stay-at-home orders ease up around the country, we hope you’re getting excited for the fall hunting seasons. We are certainly excited. We’ve stayed plenty busy here with farms, food plots and tree stand prep!

October 1st will be here before we know it. We can’t wait to be out with our hunters on those crisp fall mornings. In the meantime, there’s a lot of work to do around here.

Tree Stand Locations

As soon as one hunting season is over, we immediately begin evaluating stand locations, making adjustments and working on new setups. We’ve spent a great deal of time this off season with our guides, looking at the layout of each farm. We talk about what worked last season and what needs improvement.

Throughout the spring, we spend time hanging new stands and clearing shooting lanes. It’s hard work, but it’s a ton of fun getting ready for the 2020 season.

Farms and Food Plots

Planting Food Plots for Whitetails

Hadley Creek is not just a part time-hunting outfitter. We are a full time year round business. We not only manage our farms for hunting, we manage the farm operations as well. This allows us to farm with hunting in mind.

Our farms are laid out for hunting. We are able to decide what gets planted, where it goes, and when crops are harvested. This allows us to put our hunters in the best possible position to take mature, whitetail bucks.

Having a full lineup of commercial farming equipment also means that our food plots are the best in the business. We’re not just out there with a chicken scratcher putting in small plots. We’re able to plant giant food plots in the most strategic locations.

Scouting and Trail Cameras

One benefit of being a year-round hunting and farming operation is that we never stop scouting our properties. Throughout the summer, we will continue to place trail cameras and keep an eye on deer movements.

When we place trail cameras, there’s no way we can “inventory” everything on our farms. These are 100% free-range whitetails. But actively setting cameras and year-round scouting allows us to keep a pulse on deer activity and movement. It gives us a strategic look at what’s going on, allowing our guides to put hunters on deer more successfully.
