While the majority of our deer season is archery, the gun hunts are a highlight of each year. Illinois offers two short firearm seasons and one muzzleloader season.
Even though it’s a brief part of our year, our hunters typically take some great bucks during the firearm hunts. The first gun hunt is November 20-22 and the second gun hunt is December 3-6. This year, our muzzleloader hunt is December 11–13.
Our firearm hunts have the feel of an archery hunt – only with the extended reach of a shotgun or muzzleloader. Additionally, we have tower blinds and ground blinds set up specifically for the gun hunts.
The limited gun hunting for deer in Illinois is a big reason that this state consistently produces trophy whitetail bucks. With no high-powered rifle hunting and only limited shotgun and muzzleloader hunts, we’re able to maintain an extremely healthy age class of deer.
Our firearm hunts are very successful and licenses are guaranteed. If you’re interested in hunting with us this year, give us a call at 217-335-3804.
Illinois gun permits are now on sale. These are guaranteed tags for nonresident hunters. In fact, we handle the entire process for our hunters. No need to worry about license applications or dates. If you’re interested in hunting with us this year, we’ll make sure your gun permit is secured.
