Recap From Our Late Season Archery Hunts in Illinois - Hadley Creek Outfitters Recap From Our Late Season Archery Hunts in Illinois - Hadley Creek Outfitters

Hello again from Hadley Creek. Late season archery hunts are usually challenging and the hunts that closed our 2019-20 season on January 19th this year were no exception. Our hunters and guides dealt with difficult, unstable weather conditions which gave them a mixed bag of both good and bad hunting days.

But a big hand goes to our hunters who stuck with it and worked hard. Persistence paid off as they saw good numbers of big bucks and were able to put several quality animals on the ground.

Here are a few highlights from the January 2020 late season archery hunts here in Illinois:

If you haven’t seen the updated photos from last year, check out the 2019 Season Gallery. From early October all the way through January, we’re proud of the number of quality bucks we were able to take this year. It was a fun season and we’re already looking forward to 2020!

The age class of deer on our farms this year is among the best it has ever been. Our hunters saw some giants, plus a high density of three and four-year-old deer with big potential. Holding firm to our 140” minimum is paying off. When you combine that with several consecutive disease-free years here in this part of the state, 2020 should be a tremendous year for trophy bucks at Hadley Creek.
